The thrill of Disney

This is another jam-packed Disney layout! I couldn't resist this wild paper when I saw how well it coordinated with my boys' orange and green Hawaiian shirts. I didn't have to use too many embellishments, considering the paper and photos did most of the work! At the time, I was very obsessed with eyelets, and I used a lot of them on this layout, in a lot of photo corners. I embellished them even more by typing ribbon around each one for an extra punch! This isn't my usual style, but looking at this layout always makes me happy (and hungry)!

Spending the day at Animal Kingdom

As you may have noticed, journaling is not one of my strengths. I love when my pages have journaling, I just hate doing it! I keep my goal to: add the place and date, and sometimes if I'm really ambitious, I'll add some journaling. This layout contains the most journaling in my history of scrapbooking. I really spent a lot of time and effort writing, re-writing, typing, setting the paper correctly, printing off testers, playing with the font size, etc. before I felt like I got it right. Maybe that's why it's not my favorite thing to do! There are certain experiences, though, that must be recorded and shared, and our experience at Animal Kingdom was one of them, so I put in the extra effort. I love the purple and green combination of this layout, and it is the simplest one I did from our Disneyworld trip (maybe because I spent so much time on the journaling!) I used simple little slide projector covers to add each child's initial to their photo, used some ink around edges, some fiber, and it was done!

I always have lots of beach/vacation pictures, and want to maximize the number of pictures in beach/vacation layouts. I was able to use 8 pictures in this picture concentrated layout! I cropped a few 3x5 photos in order to make the pictures and patterned paper (Me & My Big Ideas) cover the entire top of the pages, them made another row to do the same. I used the "empty" space on the photos to add embellishments, such as chipboard and a stamped quote. Don't be afraid to attach embellishments directly onto your pictures! To get the wave effect, I used a curvy template, traced it directly onto my photos and then hand-cut them. Another option is to past the pictures to another blank sheet of paper, then draw the template on the blue paper and past on top of the photos. I chose a cute patterned paper and die-cut the sandals, added flower eyelets to each, and die-cut the 2 in. letters from Bazzill bling paper. I embellished the tag with coordinating ribbon, staples, and eyelets, and then added orange gems where needed. I think it makes a great eye-catching, monochromatic layout, with a little extra pizazz!
